Appearance

Appearance changes how Traycer looks on this device. It sits in the Application group of Settings, so it doesn’t change with the host you are viewing, and it never changes Task content or shared artifacts. Looking for the Default, Compact and Detailed presets? They set how much of the app’s chrome shows, so they live in Layout.

Themes

Theme mode chooses when the app is light or dark:

Option	What it does
Follow device	Switches between your light theme and your dark theme with your device’s appearance. This is the default.
Light	Always uses your light theme.
Dark	Always uses your dark theme.

Light theme and Dark theme each pick the theme for one mode. The one in use right now reads “Active”. Open a picker to search your own themes and the 17 built-in ones: Neutral, Traycer Green, Amoled, Dracula, Catppuccin, GitHub, Gruvbox, Tokyo Night, Nord, Ayu, Everforest, Rose, Blue, Violet, Green, Orange and Pink. Both modes start on Traycer Green. The pencil button next to a picker edits that theme. Below the pickers:

Create theme opens the theme editor on a copy of the active theme. Changes preview immediately. Save theme keeps and selects your changes; Cancel restores your previous theme.
Import theme opens Import themes:
- Browse themes searches community color themes on the Open VSX extension registry.
- Import files takes .json, .jsonc or .vsix files, Traycer and VS Code themes alike, including whole extension packs. Drop them in, click Choose files, or paste theme JSON.
Manage themes lists your saved themes and imported packs. Each theme’s menu has Edit theme, Duplicate theme, Export theme and Delete theme. Deleting a theme that a mode is using switches that mode back to a built-in theme.

Start Page

These settings change the start page, where you begin a new Task.

Setting	Default	What it does
Wallpaper	None	Choose image… sets your own PNG, JPEG or WebP image. Remove clears it.
Traycer team curated wallpapers	—	Pick a wallpaper from the curated gallery, or open the full catalog. Each one downloads when you apply it.
Wallpaper effect	Dot pattern	Photo keeps the original, Dot pattern redraws it as dots, and Film grain adds grain. Shown once a wallpaper is set.
Effect strength	60%	How strongly the effect changes the photo, from Subtle to Strong. Shown once a wallpaper is set.
Tint wallpaper with theme accent color	On	Paints the dot pattern in your theme’s accent color. Shown for Dot pattern only.
Show greeting	On	Shows a greeting on the start page.
Show tasks on the start page	On	Lists your tasks on the start page.

Interface

Setting	Default	What it does
Zoom	100%	Scales the whole app, from 67% to 300%. Reset returns to 100%. You can also press `Cmd` + `=`, `Cmd` + `-` and `Cmd` + `0` (`Ctrl` on Windows and Linux). Desktop app only.
Show a hand cursor over clickable controls	On	Uses a hand cursor over buttons, links and other clickable controls.

Zoom scales everything; the font sizes below change only text.

Fonts And Text

Each font picker lists the fonts installed on this computer and has its own reset.

Setting	Default	Sizes	What it sets
Interface font	Figtree, 15 px	10–20 px	Text across the Traycer interface.
Code font	System default monospace, 12 px	10–24 px	Code blocks and diffs.
Prompt font	Same as the interface font, 14 px	10–24 px	Where you write prompts.
Use font ligatures	On	—	Joins characters such as `!=` into one symbol in prompts and code, when the font supports it. The text itself doesn’t change.

Motion And Readability

Setting	Default	What it does
Panel animations	On	Animates sidebars, menus and dialogs as they open and close.
Animation duration	100 ms	From 0 ms (instant) to 500 ms. Applies while panel animations are on.
Text and border contrast	100%	From 70% to 130%. 100% uses the theme’s own colors; higher values make text and borders stand out more. Reset returns to 100%.

Terminal

Setting	Default	What it does
Terminal font	Same as the code font	Font and size (10–24 px) in terminals. Follows the Code font and its size until you set them.
Terminal cursor	Block	The cursor shape: Bar, Block or Underline.
Blink cursor	On	Blinks the cursor while the terminal is focused.

A preview beside these rows shows the terminal font, cursor and the current theme’s terminal colors.

Agent Office

Default view is the view the Agent office opens in for Tasks where you haven’t picked one: Floor (the default), Building, Mission control or Campus.

Icon Colors

Color icons by type gives each kind of item its own icon color: Chat, Terminal Agent, Spec, Ticket, Story, Review and Terminal. It is on by default. Pick a color for each type, or click Reset to restore the defaults. Turn it off to use neutral icons.
