# Getting started

> Replay the initial tour and run the setup guides for agent selection, appearance and layout, and browser sign-ins.

**Getting started** is your setup checklist. It leads the Settings sidebar in its own **Guide** group. The header counts your progress, for example "2 of 4 complete".

The same checklist also sits at the top of the **Home** tab, with the same cards and progress. Once every guide is complete, Home folds it into a single row you can expand. See [Getting Started Checklist](/first-run#getting-started-checklist).

## Initial Tour

**Initial tour** replays the first-run introduction: your workspace, providers, and tasks. The card reads **Start guide** until you have finished the tour once, then **Replay**.

## Setup Guides

Each guide walks you through real settings. A card over the page points at one control at a time and explains it; you change the setting itself, not a copy of it.

| **Agent selection** | 3 | How Traycer picks agents, writing your guidance in Markdown, and reverting it. On [Agent selection](/settings/agents). |
| **Appearance and layout** | 5 | Theme mode, the start page wallpaper, and the interface font on [Appearance](/settings/appearance), then the layout preset and the sidebar panel arrangement on [Layout](/settings/layout). |
| **Browser sign-ins** | 2 | Turning on **Save website sessions on this computer**, then bringing in sign-ins from another browser with **Choose source…**. On [Browser](/settings/browser#website-sessions). Desktop app only, and it needs a connected host. |

**Browser sign-ins** finishes only after an import succeeds. If you cancel the import, or it brings in nothing, the guide stays open at that step.

### Card Status

Each guide's card shows where you are:

| Status | Button |

| **Not started** | **Start guide** |
| **Step 2 of 5**, with a progress bar | **Resume** |
| **Complete** | **Revisit** |

### Moving Through A Guide

* Click **Continue** or press <kbd>→</kbd> or <kbd>Enter</kbd> to go to the next step, and press <kbd>←</kbd> to go back. A guide moves between Settings sections on its own when a step is on another page.
* On the last step, click **Done** to finish and return to Getting started.
* Press <kbd>Esc</kbd> or click the card's close button to skip the guide. A skipped guide counts as complete, so it won't ask again; you can still revisit it.
* If you close Settings in the middle of a guide, it picks up at the same step the next time you open Settings.

## After Your First Task

When the first-run guide to starting your first Task ends, a notification reads "You're all set — More setup is in Settings." Click **Open** to come here. Dismissing it is remembered, and it stops appearing once every guide is complete.
