# Export

> Save artifacts as Markdown or PDF files, one at a time or several in a ZIP.

Export saves artifacts outside Traycer, as Markdown or PDF. Anyone with access to the Task can export, including Viewers.

## Export One Artifact

In the [Artifacts](/panels/artifacts) panel, open the artifact's **⋯** menu, or right-click its row, and choose:

* **Export as Markdown** for a `.md` file.
* **Export as PDF** for a `.pdf` file.

Choose where to save the file. The file is named after the artifact's title.

## Export Several Artifacts

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select the artifacts">
    Choose **Select artifacts** from the panel's **⋯** menu, or ⌘-click / Ctrl-click the rows you want.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a format">
    Click the export button in the panel header, then **Export as Markdown ZIP** or **Export as PDF ZIP**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the ZIP">
    Choose where to save it. The ZIP is named after the Task and holds one file per artifact.
  </Step>
</Steps>

ZIP export needs at least two selected artifacts. For a single artifact, use the row menu.

## What Gets Exported

Each file holds the artifact's body at the moment you export it.

In a PDF, [diagrams](/panels/artifacts/diagrams) and [wireframes](/panels/artifacts/wireframes) appear as their source, labeled "Mermaid source" and "UI preview source", rather than as rendered images.

Comment threads are not included.
